    Wantagh crowned three champions amongst their 14 county place-winners and edged Long Beach for the county title at the 60th annual Nassau County Championships held at the David Mack Sports Complex. Legendary assistant coach Reggie Jones Jr. stated: " We have been chasing Long Beach for the past two years, we finally caught them." The Warriors were paced by state placer Justin Vines (33-3) at 126, Josiah Encarnacion (47-2) at 99 and tough Jonathan Loew (48-1) at 160. Long Beach (16-0) the Empire State's top dual squad had three county winners and 14 All-County matmen. The Marines were led by three-time state champion junior Jacori Teemer (24-1, 174-5) at 132, Joe Giorlando (170) and unbeaten Elijah Rodriguez (40-0) at 195. Brandon Van Cooten (Sew West) upended LB's state medalist Tyreek Bromley with a stunning fall to claim the 182-pound title and was voted the MOW of the county meet. Five-time county champion and three-time state king Vito Arujau (33-0, 212-1) of Syosset rolled through the 138-pound bracket and posted an impressive 20-10 major decision with a barrage of single leg takedowns and tilts over two-time state placer Kyle Mosher (36-5) of South Side, he also won the Most Pins Award. Other county titlists were Massapequa's Hunter Scutellaro (33-5) at 120, Lucas Pincus (42-2) of Hewlett at 145, two-time state finalist Peter Pappas (34-0) of Plainview JFK at 152, Uniondale's Zach Knighton-Ward (220) and MacArthur's Ryan O'Shea (31-1) in the 285-pound class.
