The Connetquot Alumni pay tribute to long time photographer Pete Venier.

On a personal note from the co-editor and photographer for The Mat Slap, I have known Pete as we sat side by side for many his forty years photographing wrestling not only at Connetquot but at countless League, County and New York State tournaments. Pete has always been so generous in sharing his expertise and has helped me develop my own photography skills throughout the decades. While many fans might not have noticed him mat side I surely will miss his camaraderie, thanks Pete. Tony Nordland​
