Sean Carter of North Babylon battles for a takedown on Dylan Ryder of Hills West. Carter upset the defending state champ, Ryder 2-1 to grab the 113 pound Suffolk crown.

Rocky Point's Corey Connolly won the 152 pound title.

     Rocky Point won their second consecutive Suffolk County team title and were paced by champions Anthony Sciotto (52-1) and Corey Connolly (49-4). Three-time state king Adam Busiello (42-0, 227-8 career), a junior from ESM, rolled through the 126-pound bracket and claimed his fifth county crown. Unseeded Sean Carter (38-5) won five bouts and upended reigning state king Dylan Ryder (38-2,132-4), 2-1, with a pivotal second period takedown in the 113-pound final, he was voted the OSW Award in the tournament.  Team-runners-up North Babylon had a solid showing and and added champions with state placers: Anthony Sobotker (30-3) in the loaded 138-pound class and three-sport athlete David Miele-Estrella (40-2) at 170. Returning state finalists: Nebraska-bound Jake Silverstein (39-2) and  Deonte Wilson (27-2) had impressive tournaments, both will seek redemption in Albany at he NYSPHSAA Championships. In a marquee match-up in the finals, Liam McIntyre (37-1) avenged his League Six finals loss and defeated previously unbeaten Joe Franzese (17-1), both are ranked amongst the top 182-pounders in the state. State caliber county finalists hoping for wild card berths are: Luke Smith (31-4), Zach Redding (39-3), tough Chris Gomez (35-1) and Joey Slackman (35-2), all are capable of high finishes at the state meet. County champions to watch in Albany include Rafael Lievano (41-4), Danny Mauriello (37-3) and Sayville's Nathan Bauland (38-1) at 195. Brentwood senior Nathaniel Lennon had the Most Pins with 3 in 2:19 in the 220-pound class.

Jake Silverstein defending county champ from Hauppauge moved up a few weight classes to capture another title, this year at 160 pounds.

Ward Melville's Rafael Lievano won the 132 pound title.

Rocky Point's Anthony Sciotto cranks his cross face cradle in the 120 pound Suffolk final. Sciotto won 6-2 as Rocky Point took the team title over North Babylon and Hauppauge.
