   East Islip (7-1) snapped Wantagh's  44-match win streak and were declared the winners at the annual David Bloom Memorial Duals. The Redmen were paced by all-county matmen Jesse Dellavecchia (120) who used a barrage of takedowns and bar arm tilts en route to a solid 16-1 tech fall, along with major decisions by Dennis Ferro (105-35 career) at 160 and gridiron star Erik Adon at 182 pounds.

   Wantagh's defending state champion, junior Kyle Quinn (7-1), posted a first period fall with a tight 3/4 nelson and other Warrior winners included eighth-grader Jonathan Loew (106) and tough Matt Langan who recorded a second period fall in the 145-pound class. Wantagh (4-1) , the two-time defending NYS team champion defeated Suffolk power Sachem North (4-1), 42-30, in the final dual of the afternoon.

     Some key highlights of the Duals saw Sachem North's unbeaten all-county performer Sean O'Hagan (8-0) upend Nassau County champion Owen Bachelder (Hewlett), 5-1, at 132 pounds. Rhode Island state runner-up Cody Beaudette (Cumberland HS) was pinned by Kyle Quinn at the 3:45 mark and edged EI's Jesse Dellavecchia, 11-10, in  a frenetic bout. Cumberland, RI dropped matches to Wantagh (51-33) and EI (57-18). Sachem North (4-1) had a nice showing with wins over Hewlett (52-18) and New Rochelle (47-21).

East Islip's Dennis Ferro reverses Wantagh's Nick Vines to his back picking up a 12-4 decision at 160 pounds.
