MAT NOTES:

Division I Champion - Plainedge finished the season with a 24-2 ledger. The Red Devils avenged two of those losses to Minisink Valley (39-25) and nemesis Wantagh (31-28) in the NYS Championships. Congratulations to head coach Rob Shaver and able assistant Matt Rich on winning the prestigious state dual meet title.


Other Long Island Division I teams; North Babylon (18-2), and Wantagh (24-3) finished with stellar seasons.


Division II runner-up John Glenn (13-3) was defeated in the final by Section Four powerhuse and reigning dual champion Tioga (12-0).


Other LI Division II squads and their season records were: Island Trees (17-8) and Clarke (11-6).
