John Glenn (10-2) defeated Shoreham-Wading River (18-5), 42-34, in an action packed dual meet that saw 12 falls of the 13 bouts contested, including a record nine consecutive falls. John Glenn was paced by reigning state champion Tommy Aiello (26-5) who flattened his opponent for a first period pin at 116 pounds.


SWR has potential state champions with Chris Colon (28-4) at 124 and freshman Gavin Mangano (31-1),  a returning state finalist at 131, both converted tight overhead cradles for falls in their respective bouts. In the clinching match of the dual, JG's Carmine Gerbino applied a cross-face cradle for a first period pin in the 285-pound bout. Head coach TJ Brocking has been at the helm for 16 years for John Glenn and also has veteran assistant coach Ryan Patrovich.

2024 SUFFOLK DIVISION II DUAL MEET TOURNAMENT

John Glenn's Tommy Aiello goes on the attack against Brady Kitchen of Shoreham Wading River. Aiello (26-5), a junior, picked up the fall and help lead John Glenn to the Suffolk Division II Dual Meet Title.

Gavin Mangano of Shoreham Wading River secures a fall with his overhead cradle in this 131 pound bout. The top ranked Mangano and returning state finalist improved his record to 31-1 on the year and has 101-3  career mark.

SWR's Nate Spuhler recorded the only decision in the dual and emerged with a 10-0  major at 170 pounds.
