Matt Maquet of Long Beach wins by injury default over Andrew Ashmawi of Massapequa at 132 pounds.

Long Beach's Tyrese Byron throws Monsignor Farrell's Mike Lanza in 160 pound semi-final action in the Massapequa Holiday Tournament. Byron  (13-3)picked up the second period fall as Long Beach (324.5 points)  won the tournament over Monroe-Woodbury (246.5) and Hauppauge (230.5).

Long Beach's Joe Giorlando takes Massapequa's Angelo Petrakis to the mat. Giorlando won this bout and went on to claim the 170 pound weight class.

Berner High School was well represented at this year's tournament with former coaches and wrestlers.

John Coletti of Long Beach fights off Bobby Piazza of West Babylon to win 9-3 at 145 pounds.

Connetquot's Dan Colondona (13-1) has a high single on Monroe-Woodbury's Joey McGinty. Colondona won by fall to advance to the finals at 120 pounds.

Shane Gibbons (20-2) of Massapequa takes down Tom Fini of Monroe-Woodbury in 145 pound action. Gibbons moved on to the final with a 7-2 win.


Hauppauge's Jake Sivlerstein wins by fall at 138 pounds.

Ben Tepperman of Hauppauge battles Paul North of Connetquot. Tepperman secured the 126 pound semi-final win with a 7-2 decision.

John Munro battles Brandon Bennett of West Babylon to win 3-2 OT at 285 pounds.

John Manning of St. Thomas Villanova of Canada, works his bar arm en route to a 6-2 semi-final win at 152 pounds.
