Bayport's Liam Maloney comes out the back door to decision Sayville's Angelo Annarumma 8-2 in the 132 pound bout.





    Bayport defeated cross-town rival Sayville, 39-24, before a packed house at Bayport HS. The Phantoms were paced by Jack Guccione (120), sophomore Austin Kruger (120), Liam Maloney (132), Dylan McGovern (145) and junior Matt Doty at 220 pounds. Guccione, McGovern and Doty recorded falls and Kruger used a second period reversal for a key 2-0 victory in his pivotal bout.

    Sayville soccer standout Justin Siracusa made a third period escape the difference in his match with highly-regarded Joe Palma and emerged with a 1-0 decision in the 138-pound class. Other top performances for the Golden Flashes were turned in by Gage Gomez (pin at 106), Jesse Cone (182) and tough Matt Siebert at 195 pounds.
